A question that should be answered.

Filed under: Uncategorized — dolphins10 at 6:14 am on Thursday, September 27, 2007

My class was asked this question:

Should students involved in school activities be tested for drugs?

My answer for this question is a simple, of course. Why would any school want students, that are using drugs, in their activities. This might influence the students who aren’t using drugs to use them. These people should not be allowed to participate in school activities, simply because it is dangerous. If these people have drugs, what would stop them from giving them to other students. The drug use in schools would probably increase if the Board of Ed. doesn’t test the students. I think this is a very important question, so, please comment me and let me know what your feelings are.

If I Wasn’t Afraid…

Filed under: Uncategorized — dolphins10 at 2:05 pm on Wednesday, September 26, 2007

If I wasn’t afraid, hmm… well this is a tough question. I am very afraid of going on boats or being in deep water. That is probably weird to most of you that know me because I am a very good swimmer. I don’t know why it scares me so much. If I wasn’t afraid I know exactly what I would do =] I would definitely organize a group (from my swim team) and swim across the Long Island Sound. I already completed this swim in the pool by swimming the exact distance,  but I think it would be cool to swim it in the REAL Long Island Sound. When we swam it virtually, we raised money for Cancer research so I would do the same thing with this program. I would love to be un-afraid because this would be a really cool thing.

“Life Blog”

Filed under: Uncategorized — dolphins10 at 1:38 pm on Monday, September 24, 2007

Well, for my weekly blog I have a story to tell about what happened to me on Sunday. Some people already know what happened to me =]

Anyways, I slept over my friends house on Saturday, and Sunday she decided we would go cosmic bowling. That was fine with me =] So we got in the car and went. There was no line when we got there and almost all the lanes were open so we went to the bathroom because my friends mom “had to go.” Little did I know that when we got there ten of my friends, my mom and dad, and a few other adults, were going to jump out and yell, “SURPRISE!” I was shocked. My birthday is in six days (as of today) and they threw me a surprise party! It was awesome. There was yummy chocolate cake and delicious pizza. It was so great to have all of my friends together. We had a ton of fun, but, we wore those yucky bowling shoes =/ haha! It was a great party and I am so glad I have the friends that I do <3 I love you guys, you know who you are ;)

A Time To Remember

Filed under: Uncategorized — dolphins10 at 2:57 pm on Wednesday, September 12, 2007

Yesterday, as you all know, was September 11th, the day Osama Bin Laden crashed into the World Trade Center. 6 years later everyone still experienced the pain.

The Twin Towers were struck by a plane on September 11, 2001.

In seconds the World Trade Center went from a successful business building to this.

This was a terrible day that will be remembered forever.

Families lost their loved ones. Many people were devastated.

The buildings were completely destroyed and many people were killed.

My uncle luckily resigned from his job, close to the Towers, the day before and avoided being hurt. One of my cousins was in the building next door and my other cousin was working close by. I was very relieved when I found that they were safe but sad when I heard that my uncles friend was on the 84th floor, and was killed in the attack.

Not only the Twin Towers were harmed. Many more people were killed in Washington. Another plane struck the Pentagon and made this day even more devastating than it already was. The events that took place on this day will be remembered forever.

Watch this video! It is very emotional and explains everything that happened.

Please take a look at all of the links in this blog entry.

My Meme Blog

Filed under: Uncategorized — dolphins10 at 3:55 pm on Friday, September 7, 2007

The description to a Meme blog is as follows:
Starting a thread of discussion by sharing your response to a query and then challenging other bloggers to answer it on their own blogs.

My Query is, “What is your description to a really good friend that you could rely on?”

I think that a friend should be someone you can trust 100%. If you feel like you can tell them absolutely anything, that person is most likely a “best friend”. A friend should also be someone who is nice to you all of the time. You definitely don’t want someone who is nice to you to your face and then they turn around and start talking about you. That is something that I think is really important in a good friend. You also want someone who makes you feel good about yourself. Someone who doesn’t make fun of you or put you down. They are also people who you love to be around. People that are funny, nice, kind, and reliable. A friend should be like a sister or brother you never had.

What do you agree with? What do you disagree with? What do you think should be added?

My Wish To You

Filed under: Uncategorized — dolphins10 at 2:53 pm on Thursday, September 6, 2007

“If you could make one wish for someone other than yourself, what would it be?”

There are so many people in this world who need help and it is a really hard task to just choose one. But, if I had to choose one, it would probably be to find a cure for Wilson’s Disease. It is probably a disease not many people have heard about. It is a genetic disorder that you develop when you are born. It is when, for some reason, your liver isn’t able to filter out copper. A devastating event occurred about a year and a half ago. At age seven a little girl, (close to my family) in second grade, passed away due to Wilson’s. It was terrible. She was happy and joyful only a few days before she passed. She had no symptoms. By the time they detected the disease, she needed a liver transplant due to the level of damage. They found a liver that matched hers. During the transplant her body rejected the liver. She died so quickly and everything happened so fast. Friends and family were shocked and devastated the night of January 3, 2006. The family is still not the same. So that is my wish to help other people with this life threatening disease that catches most people by surprise.
