Person 2: “I spent more time watching t.v. shows and reading books.”
Person 3: “I talked on the phone more, or went outside.”
What things were harder to do without the Internet?
Person 1: “It was harder to do research.”
Person 2: “Keeping track of bank accounts, paying bills, getting up to the minute news, and keeping in touch with friends and family.”
Person 3: “Any kind of school work or research for papers was harder.”
What things were you able to do more easily without the Internet?
Person 1: “I really can’t think of anything that is easier without the Internet.”
Person 2: “Almost everything has been made easier with the Internet. Homework when I was in school would force me to go to the library or use encyclopedias to do your research.”
Person 3: “I didn’t really think about the Internet because it wasn’t there. Nothing was really easy without the Internet.”
How has the Internet affected the way you live and work?
Person 1: “At work it is easier to access patient information. I work in a hospital.”
Person 2: “The Internet has changed the way I work because there is less first class mail because of the e-mail system. I work as a letter carrier.”
Person 3: “The Internet makes things easier to find. Shopping, booking flights, and research take less time. Also, you can do things more independently, such as, buying tickets and planning vacations.”
